Re: Shift from low res to high res image in BI app
I was wondering how you managed to set up your cameras without knowing about that. It's been a long time since I did a new installation  It's possible I knew at one point. The memory cards in my head were installed a very, very long time ago (in fact I think only mag tape was available). But I...

Re: Shift from low res to high res image in BI app
Could it be as simple as this selection in that BI5 camera menu ? That absolutely is it. Honestly I never even knew there was a right-click menu there, I've been pouring over the gear-symbol menu looking for such a feature. Despite being in the IT field literally all my life, I confess I remain baf...

Re: Shift from low res to high res image in BI app
Watching along for the response. My system is configured to switch to high for recording events but it would be nice to switch when viewing the camera in either web or app. Shows how confused I am, I didn't know it was possible NOT to have it shift to full resolution when you display a single camer...

Shift from low res to high res image in BI app
I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I have a bunch of 4mp and 8mp Empire Tech cameras, all are set up the same way, with a primary stream 3840x2160 and sub of 704x480 (for the current case). For all but one camera both in UI3 and in the BI Application when I go from multi-camera to single cam...

Re: Confused about GPU assignments with Intel intergrated and NVidia card.
I just ran across this issue with a new build, and have a related question. From reading the documentation it was unclear if, for an NVIDIA card, if I should pick "DirectX VA2" or "NVidia NVDAC". The implication seemed to be that sometimes the former had access to better API, but...

Re: Is my GPU a limiting factor?
So I've built the new system and have some feedback. It has a Intel Core Ultra 7 265K 3.9 processor on a Z890 MB, and I stuck an older GTX970 in there. It has two Samsung 990 Pro drives for system and "new" video, and a mirrored pair of 18TB WDC Purple drives for longer term storage. It ju...

Re: New BI build, modest load, Mini + NAS or local storage
I ended up putting two big WDC Purple drives and mirroring them (I compared to storage spaces and mirrored storage space was slower, oddly). This left me with a fairly large system that can't run W11, but was a really good system for NAS, I7-6700K and tons of SATA storage. Except I can't figure out ...

Is my GPU a limiting factor?
I am using an old GTX 970, with 8 cameras a mixture of 4M and 8M (one 2M doorbell) and all running at a fairly low frame rate (4fps) on a fairly fast but old I7-6770K system, CPU in steady state is around 8%, GPU usage negligible since writing direct to disk. When scrubbing against the timeline it i...

Re: New BI build, modest load, Mini + NAS or local storage
Not much interest in the subject I guess... I decided to forego the separate NAS box. I realized I had plex running on that server as well, which was just another video related thing to deal with, and it was simpler to just put the storage inside the new box especially with the really big HDD drives...
