Any Doorbell cameras with working two way audio thru BI?

Got a Reolink Wifi doorbell camera, and besides fighting some of the usual half done Reolink software mess, it looks decent. But no 2-way audio in either Home Assistant or as best I can tell Blue Iris. Are there any good, LOCAL (no cloud app, no cell phone app other than BI) doorbells for which BI w...

Re: For your amusement: how the AI's see the world

I can't believe I missed that size up on the top right, i was looking in the data dump itself. Just checked, and mine matches the camera resolution. Though I was disappointed to find it found a table end as a human when a skunk walked by. CPAI is really pretty bad (or I have the setup poor, not sure...

Re: For your amusement: how the AI's see the world

In that case you are already sending the best image you can to CPAI. Still worth checking what comes back in the DAT file though, as they used to reduce the resolution if it was too high. If the DAT file shows the same size, then that is old news. One day the help files will catch up ! I don't see ...

Re: For your amusement: how the AI's see the world

If you check a DAT file, does the resolution (sub-stream ?) look good enough to identify objects ? It could mean the difference between a Martian and a tripod :? I actually am not using substreams. I got really annoyed by the UI and UI3 showing very low resolution images until you bring up one came...

For your amusement: how the AI's see the world

I turn on alerts when I have the telescope set up outside unattended imaging. The camera is set to detect humans and vehicles as well as animals; the AI then confirms based on only humans and vehicles (this way I have clips of any animals but no alerts). Last night I hear this "Someone is near ...

Re: Empire Tech/Dahua Smart motion not feeding ONVIF events

I've made some progress. I could not get Smart Motion Detection to work (as in to send an ONVIF event other than isMotion). I did get IVS to work. I was originally using it in tripwire and missing most events, but if I used the intrusion with both appears and crosses, I am getting decent human recog...

Hmmm... that would be a pain. I did both updates, it looks normal. No change to onvif event from smart motion (or lack thereof). Going to try IVS again, that seems where their development effort is going.

Re: Empire Tech/Dahua Smart motion not feeding ONVIF events

Hmmm... I may not have the latest firmware. Though I am confused. Tech support gave me what I have now a month or so ago, but on their web site there's a 5/16/2024 version. What's interesting is that its release notes jump from one before the one I have now, to one after. I'm going to download what'...

Re: Empire Tech/Dahua Smart motion not feeding ONVIF events

You mention you are unsure if you are using ODM properly. You generally seem to have a good grasp of these things, but did you fully log in to the camera with ODM ? With my Reolink doorbell, that was the part that showed me exactly what the Onvif commands from the doorbell looked like. Of course th...

Re: Empire Tech/Dahua Smart motion not feeding ONVIF events

Check in the cameras own menu if you have to enable Onvif with a user/pw combo. I'm thinking it's an authorisation issue. I don't think so, since it does send the onvif motion event (all the time). It's just these events. And I have authentication turned off for onvif (since it's on a dedicated, ha...
