Re: Increase BI5 sensitivity
Hello. I have recently upgraded from an old computer to a new one and from BI4 to BI5. Running BI4 on my old computer it was showing about >90% CPU and about 3FPS. My new one runs about 25% CPU and originally was running about 25FPS but I have turned that down to 10FPS. With my old system BI would ...

Re: Bad Switch?
I use a BV-Tech 18 Port PoE Switch and I suspect it's dying, causing some of my cameras to constantly disconnect and reconnect. But I'm not 100% sure. I have two hard-wired Microseven wide-angle cameras, and they've started to drop in and out. I've moved the cameras to different ports but still see...

Re: Cameras that work
Tired of these Foscam cameras that do not last long. Need help on finding better brand that will work easily on Blue Iris and are reasonably priced. Go with the Dahua IPC-HDW5442TM-ASE cameras. As of this writing, they offer the biggest bang-for-the-buck in my experience. They have AI motion detect...

Re: Problem with UI3 since updating to BI 5.3.2.6 (9/7/2020)
Hi all. I want to shed some light on what caused this issue. What happened was Blue Iris suddenly (without warning) changed the meaning of frame timestamps in H.264 video streams. This broke certain aspects of UI3, which relies on those timestamps to control playback rate and to detect video delay....

Re: Strange happenings
Your product key is only good for versions up to the licensed period (typically a year from purchase). If you manually download a version newer than your licensed support period, the Blue Iris will go into Demo mode just as if you didn't enter a license key. Either purchase a support extension ($34....

Re: Logging failed login attempts?
Under Settings -> Web server -> Advanced, make sure that Log ALL connections, not just logins is ticked. Failed login attempts should appear as below in the log file:
Code: Select all
::ffff:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: AuthFailed {"auth-exempt":false,"reason":"no matching user/pw"}

Re: Quality Questions - Re-encoding
The main issue I have with BI is that on the main mosaic screen, FPS is only about 5 FPS (CPU is only about 30%), is there anyway to get this FPS up to 15 FPS, for example (as all my cameras are at 15 FPS). The quality of the mosaic screen is ok'sh (would like FPS higher), but when clicking on a ca...
