Re: Problem with UI3 since updating to BI 5.3.2.6 (9/7/2020)
Hi all. I want to shed some light on what caused this issue. What happened was Blue Iris suddenly (without warning) changed the meaning of frame timestamps in H.264 video streams. This broke certain aspects of UI3, which relies on those timestamps to control playback rate and to detect video delay. ...

Re: Embed a website cam into BI5
Blue Iris's network IP camera configuration panel has a lot of ways to do the same thing and this causes a lot of ambiguity. The way I would recommend to configure that cam is this: (untested because the URL wasn't working when I wrote this)

Re: Quality Questions - Re-encoding
You are right, all streams sent to UI3 are re-encoded by Blue Iris and therefore lower quality than the source. Blue Iris does not offer a way for a remote client to pull an original (not re-encoded) stream. The one exception to this is when exporting clips without re-encoding, but this isn't a real...

Re: BI 4.8 and PCI Compliance
I suggest you secure the Blue Iris web server better. Perhaps put it behind an HTTPS reverse-proxy server that requires HTTP digest authentication. (I'm guessing that would be sufficient to pass the PCI compliance testing) Even better, don't forward a port to Blue Iris at all, and run an OpenVPN ser...

Re: Ryzen Vega 11 gpu better than Intel HD 630?
None of the high-end Ryzen CPUs offer hardware-accelerated video decoding/encoding. Only the low-end models. I have trouble imagining why someone would buy one of those for Blue Iris when an equivalent Intel system with Quick Sync could be had for a lot less money from ebay.

Re: AMD support
Blue Iris has never had a compatibility problem with AMD CPUs. The only thing you will be missing is Quick Sync Video, because that is an Intel-only technology. Quick Sync has two main advantages in Blue Iris: 1) Reduces CPU usage by up to half (more or less, depending on other settings). 2) Reduce...
