Re: Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
Secure remote access ? I now use ZeroTier. Very simple to set up and use, and free. I used to use OpenVPN. It's not very nice. Yes, I stumbled across Zero Tier shortly after I did the post relative to a 2nd LAN for security. I am anxious to get going on the Zero Tier. First I want to go through thi...

Re: Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
I'm curious about the existing connectivity to the cameras in question and how they are managed on the network in the first place. Unless I completely missed it, that's what needs to be established before anything else being suggested even matters. All cameras are IP POE. Each running into a POE sw...

Re: Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
Thanks forum. We're all on a budget and I'm no exception. I am not even close to the computer/components knowledge of most of you. So, trying to keep this thread from getting annoying. I agree with this thread's replies and I see the need to get rid of the A12 processor. I have located the following...

Re: Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
If the A12 isn’t capable why still keep it? Why not just move the HDD into the Intel PC? In terms of BI optimisation, it used to be the case that you needed an Intel CPU of a certain gen and above so that you could enable hardware acceleration but with BI now supporting substreams hardware accelera...

Re: Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
I might suggest 2) being the ability of the CPU/GPU to decode the video streams. If your cameras are set to H264 or H265, make sure the CPU/GPU can handle the respective streams with good hardware acceleration and that the hardware acceleration is actually turned on in the BI settings for that came...

Re: Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
Thanks HeneryH, In general I agree. In retrospect of OP I should have mentioned I'm not even doing any recording at the moment. My reason for this is to first get top ticket camera operations then move onto recording learning. However, first concurring the configuring stated in my red typeset OP is ...

Hardware / Software Two Different Locations
Can the BI5 software be located on an Intel PC and the 4TB Purple HDD be located on an AMD PC? Then just run BI5 in Chrome (or otherwise) browser UI3 on the Intel [much faster and much beefier] Intel i7 - 4790K 4.00GHz processor, cheap graphics card, Radeon HD6670 graphics plus Intel onboard graphi...
