Re: Export speed tricks??
That helps. Your resolution is a lot less than mine. ~1MP versus 5MP. That may be a major factor in my performance issues. Not because the PC isn't up to it, as it is mostly asleep, but because the export process seems limited to 4 threads no matter what setting you put in the threads option. I have...

Re: Export speed tricks??
Thank you for that! What resolution is the source video? All of my cameras are 5MP and I'm recording them at 5MP and do not resize any of them during export. I do however need to re-encode to preserve the date/time overlay as that is paramount in most cases to tie the visuals to the time they occurr...

Re: Export speed tricks??
Well my experiment with MP4 native recording is a bust at this point. While using MP4 as a file type for recording reviewing footage broke entirely. Reviewing footage that was only a few minutes ago produces an error that says you can only do that with BVR and reviewing footage from a couple hours a...

Re: Export speed tricks??
Well sure, exporting a 4min clip should take seconds. lol These are 30 min to 1hr clips. Which is “long”, sure, but that same clip after export can be ripped through with ffmpeg or clip champ on that same computer in 30 minutes or less. (Speeding up or resizing for example.) The difference is that w...

Export speed tricks??
The export speed performance is killing me yet again. I had an event occur last night and the police are investigating. I have footage that they need, but I've been waiting over 3 hours for the first of 3 exports to complete. Looks like it'll take at least 4 hours, if not 5, for each export so I won...

Re: Automated time-lapse? (SOLVED & WORKING!!)
Nothing new at the moment. This project got stalled a bit with other priorities. BlueIris is still working as before, still with clips converting very slowly. My process isn’t fully automated yet as I haven’t had time to finish up the scheduled tasks, but manually running ffmpeg is working ok. One t...

Re: Automated time-lapse? (SOLVED & WORKING!!)
For stitching together daily clips, FFMPEG is indeed a powerful tool, but handling such scripts can get technical. I'm an IT guy, so technical is my bread and butter. For this project, the stitching has to be automated and scripted. I'm not going to spend any time in a video editor. I'm pretty much...

Re: Automated time-lapse? (SOLVED & WORKING!!)
I'm still tweaking my process, but I'm getting closer to a final setup. I can' t count the number of times over the years that I've found dozens or hundreds of forum posts about precisely what I'm working on, but those posts end with a cliff-hanger and no resolution. I also often find people who pos...

Re: Maximizing export performance?
Found some references to using FFMPEG to do this conversion from years past, but that is not working for me currently. Either the BVR format has changed or FFMPEG has changed, either way or for some other reason, FFMPEG doesn't seem to be a viable solution anymore unless anyone knows of a new trick ...

Re: Batch convert BVR to MP4
Just found this script and it's not working for me for a couple reasons. First is that the $oldvid variable isn't being translated into the foreach loop I think. I copied the params line into the loop though and fixed that problem. Second though, is a bigger issue, in that ffmpeg doesn't seem to lik...
