Latest update to version 5 crashes
The latest update to version 5.0 is crashing immediately upon loading. I uninstalled BlueIris and installed the previous version and it loads just fine but the program just starts downloading and installing the new version again. I am unable to prevent this install as it starts the moment the program loads before I have a chance to turn off upadates. I am stuck. I can not do anything to fix this bad update situation. Help. You would think the updates get tested for stuff like this but you would be wrong!

I'm having the exact same issue on 5 different installs. My clients are screaming about it.

I stopped the bI service and manually installed the update. Then rapidly disabled auto updates to BI. So far that's working on 1 install. I'll let you know if it works on number 2

That didn't last long. It crashed again. BLUEIRIS please fix this fast.

I was able to stop the update and now I am able to use it after another install. I had to go in real fast and click the button to stop the automatic update. I hope they fix the issue soon.

Please, Please, Please.... Be more specific. What version?
Stating "the latest update of BI 5.0" really does not tell us the version number that is causing the fail.
The only thing we have to go on is the date of the post. Even that would not necessarily narrow it to a version.
I'm currently on version 5.5.1.5, and it's running fine.

I had the same problem and could fix it with the answer of MikeBwca by replacing the installed version 5.5.1.9 with 5.5.1.7.
You'll find the version here https://ipcamtalk.com/downloads/blue-ir ... .3/history
Download version 5.5.1.7 and start setup. After restart of Blue Iris please keep in mind that no automatic download and update of the Blue Iris software will start. Otherwise, you have to repeat the procedure again.
Set the option of "software update and maintenance" to "no automatic updates", as fast as if you can.
A rollback to version 5.5.1.7 can repeat again after an automatic install of 5.5.1.9 if you couldn't stop the automatic download and install.
Hint: Disable the internet connection before you start setup for the rollback.
Then you get more time to set the option for "no automatic update".

Same issue here.. had to revert back to 5.5.1.7.
