Deepstack not saving unrecognised faces

Post by downriverbob »

I've been messing around with my BI/DS the last couple of days, I got the face recognition to save a few images of my face, but now it's stopped. Any thought on how to troubleshoot this?

Motion clips that get flagged as a person can have a green or orange box around the face tagged as unknown in the playback.

In my view, it could be a dozen things. It depends on how you have things set up. To get to the bottom of it, post screenshots 1 through 7 in the post Object detection - Dog tagged as Person. Note the paragraph under the list that mentions Screen Capture Composite. I find it a whole lot easier to deal with - just a suggestion.

Cool. Side note, to create a composite you paste individual images into a big blank one. It doesn't matter single images work - and helpful. Tuning or troubleshooting DS issues isn't straightforward but it all boils down to this: DS needs enough data in enough time to do it's job. It starts at the camera - For me, the camera status tab is the best tool for triage. In my opinion, you should reduce FPS to 15 and Frame Interval to 15 for both streams, and set the resolution of the main stream to 2MP for all cameras using DS. The most significant factor is the frame interval - if it's not set right, nothing else matters. It's all documented -> Camera setup

Provide an update and go from there.

I'm stuck with the frame interval settings I've got unfortunately - I have a couple of new cameras on the way so hopefully they're better than what I've got. Though, I'm not sure this is really part of the problem. These original cameras did save some images of my face to the "unknown faces" directory. DS is also flagging faces as unknown in the previews, just not saving them as unknown
