Proxmox ONVIF trigger events

Post by GaryK4 »

I am trying to offload BI to a Proxmox server. I created a VM to run windows 10 and BI. This all works fine.
My new EmpireTech SD4A425DB-HNY PTZ camera has good motion detection and tracking. It is configured to use ONVIF trigger events.
On my main Windows 10 computer, The events and tracking works. On the Proxmox VM (win10) the triggers do not work. I use all the same settings on both machines.

Is there something else I have to do to make this work? or is it just not supported by BI?

Are you saying that BI5 receives camera Onvif commands if it is running directly on the pc but not if it is running in a VM ?

Don’t ONVIF trigger on specific ports according to the config in the cam? Might be worth checking or even disabling any firewall you may have to help diagnose the issue?

That's what I'm thinking too 8-)

So if it works with BI5 running on bare metal, but not inside a VM, then it must be the VM blocking the port. It depends if that is what the OP meant

Next issue is if the OP is meaning Onvif profile S or T. We'll get to that.

Yes, that is correct.

Sorry, I should have thought of this. I went back to the desktop version and it was not working also.
Then I rebooted the camera and now it works on both windows and VM!

Yes, that's a different kettle of fish, but we'll call it a success anyway :D
