Run as Administrator on Startup

Post by nolocus »

I'm new to BI software and it is an improvement from my original camera software, mostly. However, I'm curious why 'Run as administrator' privileges are asked for in the software startup tab? This recent thread made me curious;

I've un-checked that option, does that prevent auto updates? I do not require access from a mobile device either, just basic monitoring. Thanks.

Hi nolocus,

Have a look at the help files built in to BI5. Click the question mark at the top left hand side of the window. On page 149 you will find the info about "Windows administrator access".

The reason I disable automatic updates, is to prevent update issues. The thought of BI5 disabling itself while I am away from home led to that. I much prefer to do updates over a weekend when I have time to think.
