I'd like to display a stationary graphic in place of camera video.
I have a short .avi if 'video' is needed and I have a single graphic jpg and gif if those would work better. All are in the Blue Iris www folder. They are 352 x 240 and rotated 270 degrees.
Prior to a hard drive failure, it worked for 10 years. I had it set up to work with an .avi video... maybe 1 second long. It showed up as a fixed graphic. But I can't seem to find the correct configuration now. I continue to get errors stating "Cam 3: No signal, 404 not found" or "Cam3: No signal, I/O error: 0"
The .avi graphic showed up along with video from 7 other cameras. Maybe the .jpg option would make more sense if I could get that setup to work.
I'd appreciate your advice.

Re: Display jpg or avi as normal video from camera?
I searched the Help file, but only found the info on using your own JPG if a camera is lost. Can you send an email to Support and let us know the response ?
I did find a method on the www using OBS and their rtsp server. That should allow you to put anything from a website to a static image to a video as a valid BI5 input, but I suspect your method was much simpler than that. Interesting

Re: Display jpg or avi as normal video from camera?
Thank you for your interest!
I figured out how to display the single graphic. I ended up doing it two different ways. One: using a GIF and one using a JPG. Each of which makes more sense than using an AVI video which I had been doing. The "yard.jpg" graphic is in the "www" folder of Blue Iris. The "yard_horz.gif" graphic is in the "html" folder of Homeseer. Both graphics are of the same object. Both folders are tunneled through CloudFlare.
Now that it is done, it looks very simple. But it took me hours to get the right combinations of settings.

No. Really no need until you realize you should have done that yesterday.
I like to wait until the day after I should have done it.

Now that's pretty cool. And V4 no less!
Presumably for alerts not requiring accompanying video?

Actually... the graphic is used as a geographic template. Whereby you can click with a mouse or touch with your finger in various areas on the graphic to perform various functions in various locations.
Re: Display jpg or avi as normal video from camera? -RESOLVED
That's even cooler..., and quite intriguing. So it's just a front end for something else altogether? By what means are you achieving this (macros?) and what's the ultimate end game?
Re: Display jpg or avi as normal video from camera? -RESOLVED
I appreciate your interest! I wish it was a greater thing that it actually is.
What the graphic is ... is a diagram of my lot surrounding my home. The lot is divided into 7 zones. Each zone is actually a sprinkler zone. So you can click on an area and that sprinkler zone turns on. Click on another zone, the previous zone shuts off and the new one turns on. I use to test and setup the sprinklers. I carry my cell phone or iPad around and use the graphic in that manner.
The whole thing is written in Javascript.
I know it isn't much. But it is a very useful tool for me. JavaScript controls a web interface board that has eight outputs to control the valves. Very simple arrangement. It's a homemade sprinkler system which also uses a vb.net script using evapotranspiration to control the sprinklers. It takes rain forecasts, actual rain amount, wind speed, soil moisture, humidity, temperature, solar radiation, and previous balance into effect when calculating how much irrigation is required each morning.

You must be growing some mighty important (and healthy) vegetation!
Definitely next level resourcefullness and innovation for a Blue Iris use case.
(While many struggle daily just trying to get their BI/AI setups to distinguish a chipmunk from a schoolbus.)
Well done, sir. Well done.
Thanks for sharing and elaborating.
Now about your Holiday Lights....LOL
