Hi everyone,
I’m having some trouble with the motion detection sensitivity settings in Blue Iris. I’ve adjusted the sensitivity levels and zones multiple times, but I still seem to be getting too many false positives or missing some important events. I’m wondering if anyone has tips or tricks for fine-tuning these settings to get more accurate motion detection results.
Has anyone else faced similar issues? How did you manage to get your motion detection working reliably? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Issues with Blue Iris Motion Detection Sensitivity
Re: Issues with Blue Iris Motion Detection Sensitivity
Pre CPAI you had to get BI5 sensitive enough to detect, then figure out ways to de-sensitise it against things like >80% change = lighting change so reset trigger, or less than 50 pixels = not important so reset trigger.
With CPAI you remove those last two trigger reset mechanisms and let CPAI figure out what the original detection was.
There is no one size fits all. It really is about experimentation and learning about zones and crossing lines and masking out moving tree branches. If we can get CPAI static objects understood, then I think my system will be good enough for me.
