Slow and laggy when trying to quit on the most recent updates from about a month?

Post by BobRoss »

Has anyone else noticed that B.I. "freezes" for a good 5 second when just closing it from the X in the upper right corner? Nothing has changed on my end hardware wise. Win10x64 i7-6700. Have not added any new cams either. Never did this before.

Go to Settings > Camera and disable the hardware acceleration options if enabled.
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of taking advantage of the Intel VPP instruction set, though?

Also, I tried it, and it does not seem to make any difference in slow app exit times.

Yes. (I would also just use stock Intel.)

It sounds like some serious resources are being diverted to resolving background processes before termination. May want to fire up Task Manager prior to the next shutdown to possibly see what's going on.

Of course the obvious test is to roll back to your last good working version of BI to see if the problem disappears..., if you are certain no other changes have occurred since..., like a Windows update or similar background process of any significance.

If all returns to normal, well..., stick with what works instead of just inviting trouble with 'the latest stable release'?
