Run as a windows service makes PC unresponsive?
Re: Run as a windows service makes PC unresponsive?
Try setting the windows priority to "Above Normal" and see if the issue goes away. I have had a similar issue. BI was running perfectly on my all-in-one Lenovo Intel Core i7-12700H 12th Gen with two ssd drives in addition to many previous computers. Seven hikvision cameras set to 15fps on both streams. Direct disk recording and using each camera to cause a trigger via onvif. CPU was very low, 2-5%. Bought a GMKtec Intel Core i7-13620H 13th Gen with ssd drives. Installed the same version of blueiris on the GMKtec and experienced the reduced FPS whenever I viewed the mainstream. FPS would drop on each camera as I viewed it's mainstrem. CPU was higher, 10-20%. After trying everything I could possibly think of over many frustrating hours and searching every fourm known to me, I set the windows priority on blueiris.exe to above normal and bingo, it is now running just like my Lenovo. Setting the priority to above normal is not impacting any other processes on the GMKtec. I was so pleased with the results I put an entry in the windows registry to always run blueiris.exe at above normal so rebooting won't cause it to go back to normal. This may work for you, its a simple change and costs nothing, worth a try.
