BI5 PTZ now defaults to pointing straight down.

I finally got the PTZ working and now it changes position after a short time to pointing straight down. I found that clicking on the Home button on the PTZ control also sends it pointing straight down. I have not found a way to change the home position to where I want the camera to stay when not triggered. It never did this before BI5.

I now have to turn off PTZ and tracking as it immediately points down upon being triggered.

Sounds strangely familiar. I tried the beta BI5 autotracking with one of my Dahua PTZ's. It would start to follow an object laterally and then suddenly point straight down, and rotate from limit to limit continuously. When I asked Support, Ken responded:

Definitely see I need a recovery plan for when it does into the weeds (literally). I would not use it without a default PTZ preset. That's set in the schedule events page.

And the Help file shows:

Important note: It will help to have a default PTZ preset position defined in the Events list on the Schedule tab so that the camera will return to a known position after a period of inactivity.

I think this might be what he meant:

1. Go to BI5 settings for the camera.
2. Go to "Schedule" tab.
3. Click on "Events schedule".
4. Enable it.
5. Click the "+" to create a new control event.
6. Set the PTZ to return to your default position at a set time.

So have a go setting a default position like this and see if it helps.
