Can Blueiris automatically control a PTZ camera to an track person, car or pet and zoom in on it?
Hi team, I recently purchased a Reolink PTZ camera RLC-823S2, although it can track on it's own, unfortunately I didn't realise that although it can track it will not zoom in the identified person, car or pet. Can Blueiris automatically control a camera to an track person, car or pet and zoom in on it? I found a 3 year old post on this but nothing recent.

Hi, there is a setting in the BI5 camera PTZ settings for this, but it is Beta. See the diagram below and look at "Enable auto-track (beta)" at the bottom of the image.
The "Configure" box allows you to select zoom as well.
When I tried it with a Dahua PTZ it failed. The camera started to follow a car, then dived pointing vertically downwards and bounced off the pan end stops continuously. I fed that info back to Support at the time. Worth a try, but don't leave it unattended during testing. Do let us know if it works for you.
I'm going to have another go

Also have a look at the Help file - URL in my signature. Look for "Auto-tracking (Beta)" on page 76. I think this has appeared since my last fiasco.
So I need to check if I can do the box position method. I'll be backThis is an exciting feature allowing your PTZ enabled camera to follow motion automatically. Currently this works only with cameras that support Direct PTZ positioning (where you have the ability to click and drag to draw a box that will indicate the new PTZ position).

And page 73 of the Help file contains this:
So I tried auto-tracking again, and oddly the one that failed before did the same point to the floor and vertical rotation thing after following movement, but an identical camera in a different position worked normally and followed moving objects. Settings check time to see if I have something different.
I can confirm that this red/blue box positioning works with my Dahua SD22204UE-GN PTZ's, so they have "Direct PTZ positioning". That should mean this beta auto-tracking should work.In addition to the PTZ cursor and digital zoom capabilities, some cameras offer methods for Direct PTZ positioning (and zoom if supported) which is invoked here by holding the Ctrl key and drawing a box (toward lower-right, in red) on the area of the image where you would like to center. Draw an inverse rectangle to zoom out instead (draw toward the upper-left, in blue).

Re: Can Blueiris automatically control a PTZ camera to an track person, car or pet and zoom in on it?
I have had auto-tracking working well 97% of the time for two years on a Reolink TrackMix, but I enabled it in the camera itself. It works reasonably well. I have another camera in BI point the TrackMix to a particular region of interest based on zone crossing to provide a closer view of the event that is outside the TrackMix usual field of view, and then TrackMix takes over and tracks the motion on its own. Once the motion stops I have BI return the TrackMix to a default position, looking down the driveway as a general overview camera.
