Since updating i noticed crazy cpu spiking.
If i reboot the system and don't touch it the cpu hovers around 45% when there lots of foot traffic going by and 12% when it quiet.
Now if i log into the system and open the blue iris to check setting or the like it pegs the cpu at a 100% and remain there even after closing the program.
Also if left for 24 hours it well peg the cpu.
The system does nothing else except act as a dvr and has no daily contact.
The only change is blue iris itself.
Any ideas?
Blue Iris Version 5.9.9.18 and vr 19 cpu spiking
Re: Blue Iris Version 5.9.9.18 and vr 19 cpu spiking
I am running 5.9.9.19 with 5 cameras, I am not seeing any issues with CPU utilization on my system, sorry I don't have any thoughts at the moment on what might be causing the problem on your system!
Re: Blue Iris Version 5.9.9.18 and vr 19 cpu spiking
Its strange i got 16 cameras and at most all see 45%.
But now if go to the pc and open the software it spikes to a 100%
Making it stranger going into task-manager it does not show this and it appears to be the ethernet that getting slammed rather then the actually cpu.
The cpu shows the normal amount in task manager as it should but blue iris shows it as a 100% even though its the ethernet is whats actually getting used.
Something broken.

Re: Blue Iris Version 5.9.9.18 and vr 19 cpu spiking
More interesting is i manually downloaded the 5.9.9.18 update and installed it over the old one.
It showing as version 5.9.9.14 not 5.9.9.18 so something is clearly broken.
Extracting it shows that its not the version its supposed to be so i suspect well dealing with the mess caused by the old payment processor things may have gotten a tad messed up.

Re: Blue Iris Version 5.9.9.18 and vr 19 cpu spiking
Just a thought - there is a setting to make the BI5 cpu read the same as the task manager reading. Historically there must have been an issue getting the percentage from the PC with some CPU's. Go to General settings/ Other and change "CPU usage factor" to get them to match. Mine is set to 5 for a six core i7-8700k.The cpu shows the normal amount in task manager as it should but blue iris shows it as a 100% even though its the ethernet is whats actually getting used.

Turns out the download listed is not the download you get which needs to be corrected although updating in program simple.
The hidden issue in this case looks to be the ssd which is at 10% life
Certainly explains the behaviour the ssd doing this

Re: Blue Iris Version 5.9.9.18 and vr 19 cpu spiking
Yeah there no hardware warnings in blue iris but that's fair it was not designed for that.
The underlying problem is not the failing drive but blue iris itself.
There multiple issues these days that are becoming problematic to say the least.
The downloads are actually wrong as your getting a version other then the one stated.
Release notes are not accurate for example it states ReoLink support via RTMP yet support is being deprecated and says so in the software itself.
Quite a few things in the release notes are not accurate or only kind of true.
Saying your doing something when your not or something only works with added software but this isn't mentioned gets a company in trouble.
Now i don't know if it do to the stress of the payment processor problem of lack of understanding.
The little issue are adding up and are going to become much bigger issue soon if not addressed.
Love the software but starting to lose faith in it.
