Blue Iris Code Project not detecting - Animals- Birds???
Re: Blue Iris Code Project not detecting - Animals- Birds???
Joe, this might not be any help, but one thing to know is that IF you can use Dahua's recent 5442 (S3) cameras, they can utilize current firmware that does a great job alerting on Animals, People, Cars, and nothing else. I was using CPAI to watch for animals and it mostly worked, but required a lot more effort and was less reliable. The built in IVS AI triggering in these cameras is simple, reliable, and just works. I quit using CPAI and rely on the cameras now. Much better, but of course only useful if you have the right cams (with the most recent firmware) or are willing to change to them. I'm very glad I did...

There is also the old nuisance trigger issue. We spent years de-sensitising BI5 in order to prevent nuisance triggers. Now with CPAI you can open the BI5 motion detection floodgates and let the AI decide if you want that object to be identified. Obvious methods for BI5 to reject motion detection before any analysis has been done include the Object detection screen:
Before CPAI I would have had "Object travels" set to 50+ and "Object size exceeds" set to 67%. Both of these are to prevent nuisance triggers like clouds or other shadows from causing repeated triggers. The image above shows my settings with CPAI. Let CPAI see everything and make the decision.
