Update v5.9.9.22

Post by TimG »

Help file shows this:
Pre-6.0 feature releases
[5.9.9.22] A new push notification option to use an intermediary website for the image retrieval.
After many user requests, the /time/ web server interface now supports MJPEG video for easy browser playback and relative time specification (i.e., 1 minute ago).
So there is v6 showing up later, and we now have an intermediary website for images ? According to the News and Updates screen, that will be tmpfiles.org:

tempfile.png
tempfile.png (20.27 KiB) Viewed 5160 times

Can anybody explain the advantages of using this ? Many users requested it, so let us know :D

Turn off automatic updates and never manually update!

It must be so that image snapshots can be pushed and retrieved from that website.

Have seen quite a few posts over the years where people complain that their notifications don't include a snapshot image so maybe this is another option to resolve these types of issues?

As with other updates, unless you enable and/or configure it I very much doubt this will be default behaviour. As I've said above it must be to give users another option or maybe a way to post image snapshots that can then be processed by some other home automation?

Just checked the site and it looks like all files uploaded get removed after 60 minutes so now I've really confused as how this feature might be used.
