The IPCT thread is the best resource for this. The OP over there was the one who opened the door for the BI application of Pushover. Very responsive and supportive to questions and issues that haven't already been previously answered or identified earlier in the thread.

Thanks pogo, I found that. Lots to read through. btw, I do like the alert message that you can configure in pushover. It's nice having the hi-res snapshot with a link to the bi clip.

According to Reddit:

"Notifications resolved in 5.9.7.2 and alert images resolved in 5.9.7.3. Blue Iris report that they are still working on sounds."

Is this true? If so, why is everyone still discussing paid alternatives?

A far superior product with great support at less cost and no strings attached will occasionally receive the attention of even a casual observer.

Funny how that works.

I can confirm that bi push notifications have been pretty reliable for the last couple of days. The bi notification (sound) always beats the pushover notification (sound) by about 1/2 - 1 second. But I am really liking the pushover message format. Keeping both active for now.

after phone has been idle more than a few mins push notifications are extremely delayed if received at all.. also the photo that's supposed to be included is hit or miss whether its received along with the notification or not. Total crap experience, cant believe this is still an issue... Will be attempting pushover as others have suggested, seems a ridiculous and unnecessary workaround.

Could that be the phone trying to save battery power ?

Unrestricted battery and data usage for app. Being connected to WiFi at home seems to make it less likely to work correctly.

Did receive a timely push alert at 430 this morning about a person in my driveway,,.no images this time tho. Seems to work correctly sometimes and not others, just aggravating.

I was using a 2023 version of Blue Iris and Pushover to receive notifications thanks to last year problem with Blue Iris App notifications.

Decided to buy an extended support plan to upgrade Blue Iris to latest version because i was willing to start using Code.AI and the Blue Iris Android App notifications, abandoning Pushover.

For my surprise my experience is exactly the same as travisk: some notifications are not sent to the Blue Iris Android App, some are received without image and some are received a long time (hours) after the movement was detected.

I cant believe this isnt fixed yet!!!

There is any news about a fix? Should i go back to Pushover?
