I urgently need to extract a full day's worth of CCTV footage as evidence. Builders came in and completely ruined my kitchen, and I need to save the footage before it gets scrubbed in the next couple of days.
I believe the BVR files are limited to around 4GB each. What’s the best way to extract the entire day’s footage? Am I limited to only doing it sections due to the 4gb BVR's?
What’s the most efficient way to do this without missing anything?
Also, is there a way to convert a BVR file into a standard video format (MP4, AVI, etc.)? This would be much quicker and easier than extracting everything manually. Even if I have to extract in sections, I can stitch the footage together in Adobe Premiere if needed.
Any advice would be massively appreciated—this is really time-sensitive.
Thanks in advance!

Wow, that's not good. If it's for UK legal use, then first copy the BVR files from the "New" folder elsewhere (somewhere safe) and on to a USB stick. They can be identified by the timestamp, and viewed in BI5 by double clicking them.
The legal people won't want to use altered files for evidence so you need the entire original BVR file(s). Once you have done that you can export sections from the BVR file as MP4 for their ease of viewing. I believe the BVR files can be viewed by the legal people using a copy of BI5 in demo mode.
Does that help ?

Thanks Tim - I'll do that.. I've exported the footage into AVI files which can be played back but I will also make a copy of the BVR files as well..

Switch to Clip mode, right click, select "Protect". BI will lock the entire BVR file. To be sure, protect all clips for that day.

Clip mode and export can save them.
