I just picked up 4 ReoLink E1 Pro's. Didn't do enough research and am now regretting it. I can't get any of them to connect to Blue Iris (running latest LTS as of 19 May) - I'm about to turn on RTSP and am hating it. It warns that the video wont be encrypted. If I was hard wiring all of these, I wouldn't mind as much, but since I'm running WiFi, that's kind of a no go. I'll do it for now to test things, see if I can get it working in BI, but pretty sure at this point, I'm done.

I've been Doing My Part to work with ReoLink, but after 4 years of fighting with them and trying to get them to work with BI, I think this has done me in. 12 outside cameras and 4 internal (the 4 will be going back, too late for the others). I was in so deep with RL, that I just couldn't give up on the ecosystem. Too much money/time. However, it's just not worth it any more. I need to shift to someone else that plays well with Blue Iris. Not all these dropped connections all the time (I'm on RTMP). Lowered video quality .have a dedicated server that the CPU, once over to RTMP, hardly goes up, GPU hardly goes up, RAM is barely in use and runs a 10gb connection to my network (supports up to 40gb). The switch is a PoE switch that runs nothing but the cameras and two rooms, one of which is unoccupied. It also has a 10gb link to my network. Bandwidth isn't an issue.

Even though I'm going to be sending these back, since the posts were lost, the images people used to get the E1 Pro's working can't be viewed. Anyone feel like posting the settings/method they used?

Along with that, any recommendations for replacement cameras? I know, do my research - I'm just starting so thought I'd ask...

Not quite a year later, I feel your pain!! Joined to post this.

Found this at https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/ar ... rce=search

But JIC that disappears also, Picture or it didn't happen, right? My setup. That AC vent in the ceiling in the top left is the E1 pro feed.

But for those that follow... It is currently 2025, and Amcrest has been a JOY to work with, and pretty much same $$. But the Reoilinks will have a use also..... but I will not buy that brand ever again if most any other option is available, even if 50% more $$. My time is worth that. Heck, I just got a POE doorbell cam from https://linovision.com/products/hd-vide ... com-door01 for $179 instead of the AD110... at $99. I am betting I will be much happier. And comparing the package is like comparing a tank to a Prius. WIN!!
YMMV of course. Good Luck!!

EDIT! - the PTZ functions dont seem to work using tutorial above. :( Might be me, might be them. Let me know. ;)

Ok.... thought I was out of the woods... Again, for those who follow....

Two cameras, both Reolink E1 Pro , HARDWARE (on label) V2, Hardware off 'info' screen IPC513SD5

Screenshot of info for (2) cameras, PTZ1 and PTZ2. (Settings>Device>Info) :

PTZ1 cam setup above. worked.

PTZ2 cam setup above. Did NOT work.
See the blank areas for Alternate DNS? Look the same, but different entries. Explained below.

Above is the setup screen on PTZ2 ( Settings>Network>Network Information>Network Settings)

Ok. See the arrow? On PTZ1 That was pre-filled with 0.0.0.0 for PTZ1. Worked great.

It leaves the Alternate DNS unassigned (??) or whatever, it worked. I dont know. :ugeek: please chime in.

And worked great.

SO......... on to PTZ2. Identical camera, bought as a pair with the first. Same time, even shrink wrapped together.

Put all the same values in, (but IP at ........172 instead of ...........170, likewise with preferred DNS). Hit save.

INVALID FORMAT on the alternate DNS line. The 0.0.0.0 address. Same like PTZ1. :?:

Tried 0.0.0.1 and it accepted it. But camera STILL didnt work  on BI.

after several tries, found I could just leave the field blank, and it was accepted. AND CAMERA IS VISIBLE ON BI!

Now both work on BI. Maybe two cameras cant have the same alternate DNS, even though it (appears...) to be a null value either way in the "info" field ?!?

Maybe two """identical"" reolink cams need different alternate DNS settings that both appear to be a null? Dunno. SOMEBODY teach me please. TIA.

And still no PTZ control from BI interface, works from Reolink app, so I know its not hardware. Open to suggs. TIA.

But.... this worked for me, and hope it helps others. ALL the best.

The DNS in this case should not even matter, unless the camera gets hung up trying to "call home" and can't reach the DNS server. But if that was the case, then firewalled Reolinks would freeze up, which they don't. So it makes me think that "calling home" is optional, and the DNS setting should be irrelevant. Why not leave it at Auto? The camera then will default to the gateway IP for the DNS.

Have you tried using Find/Inspect button? That frequently helps BI find the PTZ URL for the camera. After it goes through Find/Inspect, don't forget to click Done and Ok to save the settings.

When I set the IP to static, the DNS is changed to static also, and does not allow itself to be set to Auto.

I have done a few Reolink RLC-520 and -520a cameras, and I am finding just leaving the field blank worked best.

I frequently use the find feature in BI, but it works VERY poorly, if at all for Reolink cams. In my experience. YMMV.

So I use the Reolink Client app to set the Reolink camera(s) up, then transfer the IP to BI and set up the camera there.

IP Camera Viewer 4 (https://www.deskshare.com/download_deta ... 35AHIjmSGT) is also used to locate cameras on the network. It has been VERY good at seeing everything so far. I do a search before connecting a new cam, do a screenshot, then connect the new cam and do another search. The new addition is the IP I want.

But on the re-read.... ""That frequently helps BI find the PTZ URL for the camera."" Do you mean the IP of the camera? Is there a discrete IP (URL?) for the PTZ control of the cam, separate from the video stream?

THANKS!!!

In my experience, when I use Find/Inspect, BI locates PTZ presets and controls for the camera that appears to be otherwise set up, and fixes the broken PTZ, if it happens to not work on the camera.

Thank You! That's an excellent observation.

Forgive the late reply, been 'on the road' with festivals, and finally home for some time.
