I saw the posts on the Tapo C1** cameras and bought a C450. I can't get it to connect to BI.
I set the IP address in my router and I see that address in the Tapo app
Pinging the IP succeeds and then fails. It seems the IP address fell off the network. The router stats show data moving on that IP address.
In BI, Add camera, with blank URL and Find with IP/port, that IP address does not show up.
I've tried Tp-link/*cxxx rstp, tp-link/nc450 rstp, generic/onvif and others without success.
There is no option to add a camera account in the TAPO app for this camera. I've seen some posts that without that, it cannot be used in BI.
I'm about to return the camera to Amazon.
What should I get that will work in BI?
I need wireless connection, either 2.4G or 5G will work. Power should be solar since I want to stream 24/7. At least 2K to 5K resolution. I don't need PTZ but I have to get that I'll just set and forget.
I don't want to pay more than about $100 but am flexible within reason.
On surveillanceguides.com for BI compatible cameras, they recommended The Reolink Argus PT. In BI for make of Reolink I don't see this camera so assume the default *H.264 rstp is preferred. However, the compatible camera list on the BI download page does not list any Reolink camera.
Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

Re: Tapo C450 connect to BI
I think that right there is the problem. The camera needs to turn on the RSTP feed and apparently there is no way to set that up.billr.volz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 4:50 am There is no option to add a camera account in the TAPO app for this camera. When I bought my two Tapo cameras I read Amazon reviews to check if they will connect to BI. Sure enough, some Tapo models do not have a user account / password setting in their software, and will not work with BI. So I chose the 120 that has that option.
