I suspect that it possibly has to do with the space each recording takes up plus the space for at least one extra recording for each camera, BI needs some extra room to be able to create extra files before it hits the limit that you set (working room)! Just my guess as I have always allowed lots of space and have never had these sort of issues!

Yes, that is what I am trying to say. It makes sense in my head but I don't seem to be able to explain it
  • If you have 10 cameras.
  • And each camera is set with "Combine or cut video each" to make 4GB files.
  • Then your absolute minimum "New" folder size is 40GB.
  • If "New" is less than 40GB, you will continuously have problems.
But BI5 will start to make the next file for EACH camera and may start this before the maintenance process moves the previous file. So you need >40GB, hence I suggested 80GB.

Now if you CANNOT assign 80GB to "NEW" for some reason, then maybe you could reduce the "Combine or cut video each" to 1GB for each camera. By my logic that would then need 10 x 1GB plus a bit more, so maybe your 18GB would suffice.
