'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
I checked this folder, and it had almost 7gig of misc .bvr video in the 'temp' folder going back 7 months! I shutdown BI, deleted the temp folder, and started BI back up.
No idea why these .bvr files were in there. Some were my 6 hour continuous recordings. Some were small triggered .bvr's.

Hmmm, I don't even have a C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp folder. (??)

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
Just recently, this folder path was created, possible after version 5.1.0.0. I noticed when Blue Iris updates to a newer version, it downloads the Update.exe file to this folder instead of the Program folder C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5. I am guessing you may have an older version of Blue Iris 5 installed.Thixotropic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 1:34 am Hmmm, I don't even have a C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp folder. (??)

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
I'm running version 5.1.0.4 (x64) which I think is the latest.
Maybe this folder is only created on demand or in response to some event. (??)

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
I just installed BI v5.1.0.4 on another PC in trial mode and noticed that it did not create the 'Blue Iris\temp' folder and when updating to a new version, it downloaded Update.exe to C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\ folder. I might send an e-mail to support and ask for clarification. I have been writing a utility that backs up Blue Iris' settings from the registry and archives updates for reverting to a previous version. This inconsistency makes it confusing.Thixotropic wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 12:40 pm I'm running version 5.1.0.4 (x64) which I think is the latest.

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
Found this when looking into something else...
BI Settings 'Other' tab. At the top is the BI 'Temp path' with 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' as a default.
I tried finding a system 'temp' folder to put this that would get cleaned up with windows 'Disk Cleanup'. Nothing seems to work. Yes, I tried the %TEMP% path.
I'll schedule a daily delete of the folders contents. Seems weird that this doesn't clean itself.

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
I don't have a "C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp" folder, and in fact I don't even see a "C:\ProgramData\" folder. It doesn't exist at all on my PC even though the BI 'Other' tab shows it as a default path too.

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
The only clips that seem to appear in there, are from cameras that trigger via Zone Triggering, as well as the BI updates. I'm not totaly sure at this point. And, not all show up in there!
Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
Thanks MikeBwca, I never knew there was a settings for BI Temp path. I am guessing for some strange reason Thixotropic Temp path didn't get changed to the new default. Thixotropic I would check your Temp path at Settings -> Other and change it to 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp'. My guess is that it will create the new folder path.

Re: 'C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder.
My bad- I had 'Show Hidden Folders' turned off. Turns out I do have a C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp' folder, shown below. The 'New folder' doesn't contain anything. (??)
