Blueiris service crashing since 64-bit upgrade (v5.2.2.0)

I've been using Blueiris for over a year and it has been great. But since the upgrade to the 64-bit BI service at v5.2.2.0, the service crashes every time after the update. Here is the crash summary:

Notes:
  • I've tried this on all versions between 5.2.2.0 and 5.2.4.4 - the exception code and fault offset is the same in every case.
  • If I reboot the system, the service starts OK.
  • On reboot, the web server doesn't respond. Switching it off and then back on in BI settings fixes it.
  • Windows 10 professional - up-to-date with patches.
  • Tried disabling AV protection (BitDefender) but that didn't help.
  • If I revert to 5.2.1.4 with the 32-bit BI service, everything is back to normal.

I know this is no help but I am having the same issue as you describe. I also have it crash when run as service is turned off and we leave the BI UI open, same crash report as you.

Are you running Bitdefender Total Security, if so add an exception for the file c:\program files\blue iris 5\blueirisservice.exe into the Advanced Threat Defence exceptions, this worked for me!

Thanks @BruceH. I removed bitdefender and switched to Windows Security but still had different problems with the blueiris service.

But the new 5.2.5.0 release has now fixed those problems. I'll try reinstalling bitdefender...

Bitdefender reinstalled (Total Security 2020). I did not add blueiris.exe to the list of exceptions.

Upgrade to 5.2.2.0 -> 5.2.2.2 was successful and the BI service is running too. (I even stopped the service and reinstalled it to check.)
