Update v5.2.6.0 implements an overhaul of Blue Iris 5 update mechanism so it support multiple channels on updates for "Critical or highly stable updates only" or "All major and minor updates". This has been a long awaited feature. For people looking for 24/7 reliability for Blue Iris, I recommend selecting "no automatic updates". You can still manually update to a new release but under your control and schedule and still choose your type of update (Stable or All).5.2.6 - April 22, 2020
This version introduces a split in the automatic update function. You may now choose to
continue with (sometimes daily) updates encompassing both major changes and/or minor
fixes. Or, you may elect the new option, which will skip updates until changes have been
validated as stable by those on the more-frequent update track. In addition, previous stable
updates may be made available through this same mechanism, and options exist to backup
the main exe and update packages.
In Blue Iris Settings -> About tab and Check for Updates, the option "Retain copies of the update packages" copies the Update.exe from C:\ProgramData\Blue Iris\temp to C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\Updates and renames it to include version (update64_52600.exe).
For reverting to a previous update, I still prefer my Blue Iris Update Mgmt utility because it restores both the Update containing the programs and the settings. In my opinion, this is the most complete way to revert to a previous version of Blue Iris. That being said the changes to Blue Iris' update mechanism will make it easier from the average user to revert Blue Iris to a previous version.
