How to flush all clips?

Post by Thixotropic »

What's the safe and/or easy way to delete all videos in the \Stored directory?

Let's say I wanted to completely clear out all video in both \New and \Stored, how would I go about that?

I don't want to cause an issue in BI like breaing the database; maybe delete all the clips and immediately do a manual rebuild of the database?

Do you want to delete ALL recording/clips/snapshots?

To start with a new database. you have 2 options.
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Shutdown BI, and delete the 'Blue Iris' database folder and all files. Then start BI. BI will generate the folder structure and new database.

2. Select 'All Clips' in the clip list, then press CTL-A, and, press delete key. You may have to do this to the Alert list also - sometimes it gets hosed. Also, if you have any files locked, they will need to be unlocked. Fore these reasons, I always do option 1 when I want to start with a new database.

To delete from one of the BI folders...
---------------------------------------------------

1. Open BI Settings, go to the 'Clips and archiving' folder.
2. set the size and/or age to the lowest value.
3. Run maint.
4. set the folder size/age back
