Emailed video clip not saved

I am using 5.2.9.7. I setup an alert action to email a 10 sec mp4 video clip as an attachment. I noticed that the email video clip was not saved along with other alert clips for review. That means the part of the video emailed out would be missing from the alert clips. Anybody notice that? Is this a "bug" or a feature?
