PTZ motion detecting while panning
PTZ motion detecting while panning
Maybe a stupid question, about to get a ptz camera, wondering if when it is on auto pan if Blue iris can distinguish movement aside from the panning of the camera?

EDIT: I stand corrected; please see MikeBwca's answer below.
*As far as I'm aware, no, but someone else here may have more information on this than I do.*

Re: PTZ motion detecting while panning
Yes, there are two options for suspending motion detection on PTZ movement.
In the cameras settings 'PTZ/Control' tab...
- Check the 'Suspend motion detection' box. This is the default.
- 'Max travel time/motion delay'. Set this to the max time it takes to move the camera to the PTZ preset. For example, if it takes 5 seconds to move from preset 1 to preset 2, set this to a few seconds greater, like 7. Or, just leave it at the default of 10.

Re: PTZ motion detecting while panning
I have completed both tasks to disable motion detection when my
PTZ traverses presets. However, Blue Iris still triggers motion when my ptz(s) move. Are there any other remedies?

I think it was covered above. Are you using BI5 internal motion detection and not external motion detection such as ONVIF ?
