search word exclusions are too many

Post by jelli23898 »

I'm trying to self-help by searching the forums but the following words are excluded from searches:

high
cpu
usage
best
performance
settings

I'm sure that there are far more than this too. Consequently, I can't search for posts about "high cpu usage" or "best performance settings" and even a search for "recommended performance settings" will result in a search for just "recommended". These are not the sort of words that should be added to the search term exclusion list, they have meaning and value as search terms. Only words like "if" "of" "a" "the" "and" etc should be excluded.

If anyone here has the ability to update the exclusion list, please remove all words other than particles etc.

Agreed 100%, having that many keywords in the exclusion list makes the search function almost useless.

It appears that this is a phpBB setting that generates these lists automatically. I've sent a mail to the board admin and hopefully they will change this to reduce these sort of instances.
