More than 64 cameras?

Post by modit »

Hi , we have a requirement to connect around 200+ ip cameras , does blue iris give customized license to connect more than 64 cameras thru a single license file.

Few other issues i am facing while using a trial license on our server.

1. We have connected around 10 ip cameras and i am seeing my server randomly restating .
2. It is possible to customize ui3 , like show logo of our company .
3. We also want to create a menu on ui3 like Zone - Region - Group Name and when a user click the Group name the live feed should be displayed accordingly.
4. We have created a web application in asp.net which is also hosted on the same server but when we call the camera in iframe with camera name it is opening very slow as compared to opening the same camera in ui3, any thing i can do to match the speed.

Thank you

These are honestly probably questions best asked directly to support (Ken) as this forum is community run and anything we say is helpful but not official.

I have never heard of an exception to the 64 camera limit. I was on a call this past Friday in which I directly heard Ken discussing the situation of needing more than 64 cameras and that required multiple licenses. In the instance I'm referring to, the customer was hosting a server that would have BI running directly with 64 cameras and then also a VM for an additional 64 (must have been a pretty powerful system). So in answer to sub-question #1, I don't think so.

1. Don't think that should be happening regardless of the trial. BI does have the ability to restart a system but can't think of any reason it should be doing it randomly and have never seen that. Sounds like some other form of system instability?
2. I would think so but probably a question for Ken. Maybe even a feature request as that really does make sense. For now it might be a manual process of finding the directory file and replacing it with another of similar size.... specifically it has something to do with the "SystemName" button and making it an image vs your system name. It may scale based on screen size but looks like it's 196x52.
3. I'm probably just not the right one to answer this one. I know you can create camera groups, I just never have. Not sure how those are then carried over to UI3.
4. Another Ken question. He's a Windows Developer so imagine he could help with some wizardry.

I haven't used the web UI in a while but I created a camera group for the external cams and it appeared in UI3. So, I think #3 is probably a "yes" unless there's another requirement. I think you'd just create a group with one camera in it unless I've misunderstood your question.

I think you can change the UI and it's not that complicated, you can find the files on the folder C:\Program Files\Blue Iris 5\www
