Hi, wondering if this is possible, and if so how I'd go about it. I'm studied Profiles, Schedules, etc but having a hard time wrapping my head around it.
I want to have 3 profiles.
1 - Home - record motion but dont alert
2 - Away - record motion, alert when someone/something pulls into driveway
3 - Night - alert on any motion
Home would be 6am to 10pm. Night would be 10:01pm to 5:59am.
If I'm away during the Home profile/time, using Geofencing, I want the Away profile set. However, if I'm away at night, I still want the Night profile to be set. How could I set this up? And how would I get the profiles to trigger and honor the schedule?
If I left during the day, I'd want the profile to get set to Away.
If I came home during the day, I'd want the profile to get set to Home.
If I left during the night, I'd want the profile to stay at Night. If I came home at night, I wouldnt want my profile to be set to Home, I'd want it to stay at Night.
I hope this makes sense. With how powerful Blue Iris is, I'm sure it's possible, it's just really got me twisted up.
Thanks in advance.
Home, Away, and Night with Geofencing
Re: Home, Away, and Night with Geofencing
Well, you're not alone... it gets many twisted. Your scenario is what I would love to implement myself, so while I don't have the answer, I'll be watching this to see how it evolves.
There IS a YouTube Video by HomeTech Video that goes through geofencing concepts that may shed some light.

Re: Home, Away, and Night with Geofencing
1. In BI settings, name the profiles you want to setup... Home, Away, Night. For this eample...
Home - Profile 2
Away - Profile 3
Night Profile 3
2. On each camera, Set the Alerts Actions/On Alert for the profiles you want to enable/disable the alert(s).
3. Either globally, or, per camera, set the schedule for Night.
Now the tricky part...
4. In BI Settings 'Schedule' tab, set your longitude & Latitude.
5. In BI Settings, setup your mobile device.
6. In BI Settings, 'Mobile Device', edit the mobile device you jut added, and click 'Enter geofence'.
7. Click 'Enable'.
8. Click the '+' button to add an action. Select ''Change schedule/profile'.
9. Check 'Set profile' .
10. Select the 'Away' profile.
11. I think, but am note sure, that you should leave the 'Profiles' at the top selected.
- Repeat starting at #6 for 'Exit geofence' setting to the 'Home' profile..
See, easy (not).
Hopefully I didn't miss anything.
Anyone else care to correct/add to this?
Home - Profile 2
Away - Profile 3
Night Profile 3
