Covering people walking in yard to possibly try entry into doors on other side of heat pump or through windows closer to camera. And discriminating smaller animals at night. Not easy by object size alone given how far either is from the camera i.e. if racoons are close they are mistaken as people. Perhaps AI might be better for this camera. Yard has a high output LED illuminator for nighttime visibility.

Not to complicate your assistance, but I also find that BI5 crashes a lot. Just did as we speak. Restarting BI5 doesn't fix. Had to restart 3 of 4 of four cameras from the switch. Out of the blue one or several cams (4 total) report no signal once or twice a day. Don't know how to remedy this. Sighthound was much more stable. On PC, AMD A10-6800, 4.1Ghz, 8GB no acceleration set, 12% cpu usage, 50)% ram usage.

Also this forum won't send me an email upon response to this post even though I have "Someone replies to a topic to which you are subscribed" checked.

New bag o'snakes... :(

And this forum is just a peer group support forum. Nobody "official" participates here. You are unfortunately on your own using the actual Blue Iris support mechanism in the software itself if you want "official" product support. Helping people learn the basics of their product isn't exactly a strong suit, either.

IPCamtalk is a pretty good resource for information but can be difficult to navigate due to the number of less than pleasant people you are likely to encounter, especially when asking new user questions there also.

All that aside, it sounds like triggers and clouds and shadows are the least of your problems.

I'll shoot you a PM and see if you receive it. Maybe that will be a better way to go...

PM would be fine. It's enabled. Did find that editing a pre-existing post gives me the option to get an email notification. Odd it's not a global thing on this forum.
