I keep an old Windows system running for Blue Iris. (Wish they had a Linux version...)
I had Zoneminder working well for a while, but it's kinda clunky and device discovery is hit and miss. The interface is light years behind BI, but if you're willing to take the time to get it configured, Zoneminder is actually pretty capable. Zoneminder could look much, much nicer if they took some time to tweak the CSS.

I bought a copy BI to see if it was any good, and after a couple of weeks I decided to use it instead of Zoneminder.

I use three windows 10 machines here at the house. For my study desktop, where BI resides, I use a Ryzen 2950X Threadripper with 64Gb of memory. In have a 2tb NVMe SSD as my primary storage and 2 6tb spinning disks onboard. I backup to a Synology 12 bay NAS currently populated with 8 10tb WD Reds. With Raid 6 I get about 55Tb of usable storage, 20Tb are dedicated to BI. I do a nightly backup to my son's house via VPN to his NAS.

I'm on Windows too, it's the most comfortable to play on it, I agree. What are you playing now?

I play for 3 weeks LoL Smurf. A friend of mine proposed me to try to play and I liked it. But I was bored to play from 0, so I found aged Lol accs to make it more interesting to play.

Using Windows 11 Pro for BI and miscellaneous. Been using Blue Iris for years and I'm still learning, tweaking. Running CPAI 2.9.5, debating dabbling into custom models...object detection.

I have too many computers...

Three Ubuntu mini PCs, 5th gen i5 16G RAM, one with Omada software controller, one to view BI UI3 on the living room TV, and one more just in case.
Two i5 mini PCs with Win 10 Pro for macro photography and scanning
A 2012 Mac Mini in the basement, for those times I work there and don't want to go upstairs to use a PC.
Win 10 Pro with BI on an old i7-4790K 16G RAM, Nvidia T600.
Win 11 Pro on i7-8700, 64G RAM, for general use
2024 Macbook Pro for work
i5 Dell Vostro laptop with Ubuntu, for when I need to go help neighbors with networks

I guess I am a card carrying nerd :/
