Ok I've created a single wire which encompasses two pixels side by side as per below
Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
Some screen shots on the way shortly...
Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
OK. Basic clone trigger setting establishing re-trigger time and alert/trigger duration time. The particular setting will allow 6 minutes (240 secs) worth of continuous triggers to be combined into a single clip if wanting to actually record the triggered activity as motion recordings vs only jpegs for phone alerts.

These are my settings do you think they would have posed a problem?

Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
Next are the basic sensor settings to be applied to a given zone... (I'll spare you the zone setting since you aready have that established.)
Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
Well.. I've just walked back and forth across the balcony and yet still no form of alert... I have disabled motion detection but have left zone enabled with the newly created wire... Very bizarre that it isn't working.
In addition my settings are set to the most sensitive which should result in some form of motion detection.
Min Obj. size 1
Min. Contrast 20

Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
Use my examples for now.
Next comes the Record settings. This example provides for .jpegs only for SMS alerts. Enable video recording if it is also desired based upon the same triggers as the alert or to simply experiment with your settings.
(BTW, I'm having some difficulty with the forum allowing successive posts, hence some delay in my responses.)

Now set the alert and enable the desired action...
Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
Ahh well my record tab on the clone was still set to capture continuous video which is probably a no no considering the main camera is currently allocated to do this.

Re: Seeking Assistance with Eliminating False Positives in Motion Detection
The settings I provided should be a good starting point to refine your overall setup.
There is a lot to actually unpack there and enormous flexibility to customize anything and everything but it should do exactly what you are intending to accomplish.
I need to break away again for a bit, but report back as you go.
Tweak as you like and don't hesitate to ask additional questions.
