Re: Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5
I already have the Defender exclusions and have never updated the Intel graphics drivers after finding and settling on a version way back when which didn’t suffer from any memory leak issues, until just this last week?
Re: Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5
Issue not solved unfortunately. Have mailed Ken to ask if it's safe to downgrade to 5.7.x (5.8.1.2 which was just released does not fix the issue)tomm1ed wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 2:38 pm I feel a bit daft, I did get a reply from... Ken but somehow Office 365 /Microsoft decided it was SPAM.
On his request I have added blueiris.exe and c:\Blueiris to the exclusion list of Microsoft Defender (Page 225 of the manual) and am now updating the Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics drivers from 31.0.101.4885 to the latest version (31.0.101.4972), hopefully this solves the memory leak!
Make sure you contact Ken about this because he said it appeared to not be impacting anyone else besides me.
Re: Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5
So with the help of Ken and Procexplorer I found that Blue Iris was trying to upload JPEG screenshots every minute to a no longer existing FTP server. I disabled this upload, restarted the service and since then the issue appears to be fixed. (After 24 hours only about 900MB of usage )

Wow, I would have never figured that one out
Hope all is well now

Re: Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5
I think I also fixed mine. Disabled hardware acceleration on all my cams and so far everything has been good for the last few days.
The other strange thing but a bonus is that doing this actually lowered the overall CPU usage from around 30% to 20%? I’ve read of other posts stating this but never really thought that it would and that that persons config must be strange!

Don’t remember that but I do recall reading that disabling h/w acceleration would lower CPU usage but to me that made no sense at all.TimG wrote:Ha ! Told you so
Re: Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5
Yeah I was surprised to say the least!
Problem has so far not resurfaced and BlueIris is humming along nicely:
Thing I did:
- Upgrade to latest version (5.8.1.2, by now running 5.8.1.4)
- Upgraded the Intel Iris Xe drivers
- Disabled Onvif events
- Disabled the 'Post files to an FTP server'
I've shared my settings with Ken and he is trying to reproduce. The problem seems to only have occurred after the upgrade to 5.8.
On 5.7.x BI was never so memory hungry.
Re: Memory leak on version 5.8.0.5
On my system (Intel i5-1235U) I have left hardware acceleration (Intel + VPP on all cams, 2x h.265, 3x h.264) on without issues.IAmATeaf wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 9:52 am I think I also fixed mine.
