My server has been up and running now for a few weeks without issue. Best $$$ i've spent on software, ever! Thank you....
I have an issue where my network (wifi) is up and stable (can ping and see other services) but my phone or tablet cannot connect to the BlueIris service.
If I open a command prompt on the server, I can see port 2556 is listening. I can also open a browser and connect to that port and it responds.
Wait 15 seconds, try again on phone and tablet, then I can connect.
Server is only at 20% CPU, 30% memory, lots of free disk space. BlueIris is running as a service. Windows 10

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Hi Homer81,
Just a few thoughts: Does UI3 work on a different pc on your LAN ? Did you change the usual web server port from 81 to 2556 ? Did your devices work when it was set to port 81 ?

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Thanks for the reply. When it stops working, 2 phones stop working at the same time. Cannot sign in.
Then when I log into the server (teamviewer) to check the listening port, it's still listening to the custom port which I can see from opening a web browser.
Then, if i wait about 30 seconds and try again on the phone, it works.
It's randomly hanging and causing problems connecting from devices.

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
I'm at a loss as to what to do. This is super annoying when clients cannot connect and not knowing what the issue is frustrating...
The server is up, responding to ping and teamview, and the services for BI look to listening on the correct port.

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Can anyone advise on this random connectivity issues to the BI service? Ping, Teamviewer all work fine. 2 separate phones not able to connect and neither is laptop. But locally on the server I can access the browser at 2556 which seems to stimulate a process reset or something and then the other devices can connect.
Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Happened again today and the wife is getting frustrated. Any idea what could cause the system to be not responsive, then 20 seconds later be fine?
Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Would it be a lot of work to try a different port ? I'm wondering if there is a conflict with 2556, or even with a range of ports close to that address.

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Thanks @TimG
The issues is that I've had this running for awhile and it just started to act up. Now it's 3 phones all with the same issue.
I guess all I can do is a reboot and hope for the best
Frustrating when I know the system is up but it's not working

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Hi Homer81, I'm afraid i can only assist as a home user albeit with a technical background. My usual method is to break the issue down into smaller and smaller parts until you can see the actual problem. I asked above about another pc on the network; my thought there was to connect another pc with UI3 via ethernet to the LAN to see if that fails or not at the time that the wifi devices fail. That could show if this is anything to do with your wifi setup.
It would be excellent if this is cured with a reboot though. That is an easy thing to do unless it is running something that can't be powered down. A good time for Windows updates

Re: Random Unavailable via phone
Thanks TomG,
So far I haven't been able to figure it out. When it fails, 3 devices on wifi all loose connection. Those sames devices can still ping the server though.. It's like the BlueIris Service just hangs temporarily then a watchdog timer resets it but I don't know enough about the software to know if it's true. I do have another PC on the LAN that I can try. I'll check it when it next fails.
When I connect to the server and do a web page request to the port (basically localhost: port, it seems to cause some sort of reset) and then the other devices are fine.
Appreciate the help TomG.
Any chance an admin or a developer may know if this is a longstanding issue when BI is run as a service?
