"Painting" motion detection areas

Post by deadeye »

Does anyone know if there's a plan in the future for BlueIris to be able to "paint" active areas for motion detection like a lot of cameras have built in? For example, if I only want motion in a certain area of the frame to be able to be triggered and ignore everywhere else in the frame. it looks like we can currently only set the area from the centre of the frame outwards and adjust the size of the area.

Thanks,

You're close. In the same form where you are seeing "centre of the frame outwards" (Camera Settings > Trigger tab > Configure button) select "Use zones and hot spot" and then the Edit button. From there select the area(s) desired. On page 56 of the current help file

Heh, the next video in this series that I was watching also had my answer. This is a really good channel and I highly recommend it:
