Continous recording

Post by foo8ar »

Hi all

I'm a new user, trying to get the bells and whistles of the Blue Iris software.

Right now I'm trying to start a setup with continuous recording of my cams. Currently I'm just using 2 ip-cams with a default setup. The brand of the cams is Axis and Reolink which both are connected via ethernet cabling, no wifi.
The only change I have made is to allow continuous recording on the Record Tab on each cam settings page.

The issues I have with the current setup (ver 5.2.9.1) is as follows:
1. I only have an "active" timeline of less than 24h even though the system have been running for a couple of weeks. By active i mean that the timeline have a blue bar that indicates available recordings. I can still see more activities like red bars and flashes indicating triggers or motion sensing but there is no video available at those times.
2. Clicking somewhere in the recorded timeline I expect to be able to start playback but most of the time it shows me either blacked out cams or completely random times that could be verified by the time/date overlay of the cam.

I've tried to make a complete reinstall (including registry clean out) but still the same behaviour.

Am I missing something completely obvious here?

Got an solution from BI support.
The default limit of 10GB in new and 20GB in storage gave a strange behaviour.
Not very obvious, but perhaps in the details of the manual.
