I've had a garage theft (https://photos.app.goo.gl/FvVJ7FwPMocgLYnX8 , auto close failed and didn't notice) and chased several "alley cruisers" out of our alley the last few months. Time to get a good LPR camera and mount facing alley. I threw a Wyze Outdoor cam up because I had it laying around after I bought it to test out, but it's just above junk for this purpose. 1080p doesn't come close to getting me a good image (see below), but it saved me from running a wire under my patio
So, I'm going to buy a specific camera for it, but I don't want to spend upwards of $700 to buy a Nelly's or other similar camera. I know you have to have special IR adjustments on it to get night license plates, and I don't want to install additional software to do it.
Anyone have any luck with some specific cameras I can try? I'm running the POE wire this weekend, and want to order one soon. 110 FOV or greater is really needed to keep it at just one camera mounted. Looking at this one, https://amzn.to/34525BV . Any advice would be great!!
