Can't move the image around when zooming in anymore?

Post by wavehogger »

Hi. I finally upgraded to V5. One feature I used a lot was when viewing one camera and zooming in with the mouse wheel you could left click and move the image around so you can zoom in on a specific area. That doesn't work anymore. I right clicked to look for any setting to change but there doesn't seem to be anything. Did this get removed? You can when it's playing back something but not when it's live.

Thanks,
Steven

Hi wavehogger,

I normally use UI3 as my BI5 server is locked away, and moving and zooming video works well there with BI5. I have just tried it with the main GUI on the server and there is something odd.

Using a trackpad on my bluetooth keyboard:

1. UI3 zooms in to the image if I slowly move two fingers apart on the trackpad as expected. I can drag the picture around on live and recorded video to see all of it while zoomed in.
2. The main GUI zooms OUT of the image if I move two fingers together ! = reversed zoom action ! I can drag the picture around on live and recorded video to see all of it while zoomed in.

To make UI3 match the BI5 GUI, I found setting "reverse mouse wheel zoom", but I prefer it the other way ! There is a setting per camera in BI5 settings, but it didn't affect this reversed zoom with the trackpad.

So digital zoom and moving around the zoomed in image worked from the BI5 GUI and from UI3, but it wasn't the same. Please have a test/play with it and let us know what you find.

Look under the camera's settings on the PTZ/Control tab. If it's not a PTZ camera, you can either uncheck the "Enable PTZ and other controls..." box at the top, or if it is a PTZ (or if you want the PTZ options enabled anyway) you can change the drop-down in the Options section to "No PTZ Cursor" or "PTZ Unless Zoomed" to enable panning with the mouse while digitally zoomed.
