I have developed a service that listens to OpenALPR webhooks and uses the information to overlay license plate # and vehicle information on Hikvision and Dahua cameras. I would like to integrate with BI directly instead of setting the overlay on the camera directly. I looked through the JSON API https://www.houselogix.com/docs/blue-ir ... s/json.htm but didn't find anything related to overlays. Is that the most up to date api? Is there any functionality that would let me turn an overlay on/off and set the text of the overlay programmatically?

Hi, that is one for Support, as this is mainly a user to user forum. Please let us know what they say.

An easy way is to use text overlays that are sourced by a text file.

Then can use whatever you want to overwrite the text file causing the screen to update.


This is how the weather overlays work.

In BI Settings, go to the 'Macros' tab.

Note:
You can have more than the 9 macros listed. You will need to go into the Windows registry branch 'Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Perspective Software\Blue Iris\Macros' and manually add them.
