Free video card- is it worth adding?

I was just given a NVIDIA GTX 970 video card and I'm wondering if there's any point to putting it in my BI box?

Currently my BI box is just using the onboard graphics and it seems to be okay.

The usual numbers for the CPU and memory run around ~18 to 20% CPU and ~2GB of memory (for 9 cams, 4 on continuous record).

So....would putting this in my BI box be of any value?

For specs reference: (ignore the price, they're delusional if they think this is a $400+ card)

I believe it would probably be better than your onboard graphics.

You would need to run something like MSI afterburner to see gpu usage. I run it, but only use the taskbar displays, and, fan speed control (based on gpu temp).

I have 4 monitors running on a NVIDIA GTX 750 ti, 7 cameras, Weather camera, and a few clones. Most running continuous.

The GPU usage is around 5-6% with the BI console minimized, and 7-9% with the BI console open. This is with the BI settings & cameras set to use NVidia NVDEC. Your cpu should go down a bit also.

When I play SC2 the GPU goes to around 35%, and the fan speeds up slightly.
