Editing Alert parameters en masse and or SMS/MMS delays

Post by RGxScout »

Just swtiched from TMobile to ATT as a wireless carrier.

I am having a really difficult time getting ATT to reliably deliver SMS push alerts. I've tried MMS, tried dropping the attached picture, tried dropping the quality of the attached picture etc. I have about 10 camera's going to some configuration of 4 phones.

Is there any way to edit the alerts in a text file? It would make my change over easier. Everytime I think I have it working as desired I go through 10 cameras and update the alerts' settings on 2-4 phones just to find it has stopped working or takes hours to deliver them out of order. (I realize this is likely ATT's problem).

I also recognize push is the preferred method for this, but prefer to not have BI exposed to the internet - making the mobile app not work remotely. I have a VPN on my phone, but don't expect the spouse or kids to enable it just to use BI.

I'm sorry to hear that (kind of kidding) ATT has been a dishonest actor since the breakup of Bell and I stopped using them years ago. Not judging your choice, just expressing an opinion.

First, SMS alerts are not spontaneous - you'll find commentary all over about delayed texts. Don't know that there's anything anyone can do about it except to expect it.

Second, the easiest way is to use the COPY button on the video tab of the camera with the correct settings. It copies profile settings from one camera to another. There's some documentation in the help file but it is a newer implantation of a BI v4 feature - based on user requests for the function. I just tested it and it appears to work fine.

A very delayed "thank you".

Ironically I have bought out of ATT and back to Mintmobile(TMO).

I was searching to see if there was an easier way to do this - but alas.
