The red frames usually means that the clip is still being recorded. As I look at what you've posted, it seems to me that you're making it harder than it has to be. No different than the rest of us when we were new to BI, but if we were friends having a beer, I'd say "set up the way you're set up, you're looking for disaster." I have been using BI since v3 (circa 2013) so I totally understand how confusing BI is - since that time, they've put a lot of man hours into self help content, and I encourage you to spend some time. Trust me pal, it takes time, but it's worth it. Your best friends will be:

There are several things that stand out to me as wonky.
1. You're reviewing clips in the New folder instead of filtering the Clips List
p 115 in the help: Clips list filters
2. You're not capitalizing on the built in features of BI for clip review
p 35 in help: Use the Calendar icon to filter the clips list to display only items from one particular day. Click it again and use the Cancel button to return to the display of all items.
3. You have Compact/Repair Database disabled - you're asking for trouble. One of BI's core functions is to keep track of images and video by using a database. Misunderstanding this feature and database management, will not end well.
p 72 An alert image is a special kind of clips database entry. It is taken at the leading edge of a trigger and acts as “bookmark” into a video file to mark the position of an event. The clips list has a filter to show just the alert images, and these are managed as dependents of the actual video file to which they refer—that is when the video is deleted, so too are its alert images (unless they have their own files, discussed below). As there may be many more alert images than video files, they have their own schedule for automatic deletion on the Clips page in Settings.

My recommendation is to study up with the links above, and ask questions about what you don't understand. You should spend serious time in the
Blue Iris Onboarding Checklistsection in self help to make sure you have a basic foundation of setting things up.
I mean no disrespect - I'm coming from the place of... I've been there, I get it, that's what I've been doing since July last year when I upgraded to v5.
