I've setup Blue Iris with a single camera and I got it to record when motion is detected. In my tests all works fine, however today I went out for a few hours, then I came back, and when I've checked what was recorded I found that it recorded me when I left, but not when I came back.
I've open the console, tried to move in front of the camera, and still nothing. The camera is properly connected though - it shows up live in the console. Eventually I've tried manually triggering an event, which worked, and now motion detection also works again.
But that's not very reassuring that it can randomly stop recording. I've inspected the log and there's no error in there. My motion detection settings are the default ones.
Any idea what could cause this issue and how I can debug it?

Re: Blue Iris randomly stops recording on trigger
Just got a similar issue again. This time it didn't record me when I left the house, however it did record when I came back... except it started recording about 30 seconds after my arrival.
So it seems motion detection and/or recording is randomly unreliable. The most annoying thing is that the hard part seems to be done - the camera works fine, the connection is good, the feed is live in the console, etc. So it's a matter of analysing that feed, but somehow that doesn't work.
Anyone ever had a similar issue? Any idea what I could try to investigate this?

Everyone has experienced that. And there are dozens of ways to investigate it. Your best bet is to familiarize yourself with the motion sensor articles located in the Onboarding section of the forum.
