rules to send SMS being ignored

good day ,

I have 2 zones defined on all my cameras, its zone A and B.

I set blue iris to create alerts for both zones ,but to send me SMS with picture only if motion was also present at zone B .

its works exactly as it should BUT from time to time its sends me the SMS with picture when motion was only in zone A.

it happens at random times and cameras .

I'm trying to figure it out but its not easy because its works correctly for the most part and then not .
I am wondering if its a bug.

any thoughts /idea's ?

thank you .

To get to the bottom of it, post a screenshot of your zones. I posted a video on YT showing zones during playback with Analyze with Motion Detector enabled as an example. You can do a screen cap. BI Display Zones Thru Motion Detector

Looks like it is working as expected. You have zone B as a subset of A. When there's motion in B, there is also motion in A. If you analyze playback with motion detector as in the example video I posted you will be able to see why you're getting alerts for objects that are in zone A. Analyze with motion detector has been a cherished troubleshooting tool for a long time. That's how you'll get to the bottom of it. Once you use zones correctly, the rest will fall into place.

I recommend spending some time on the motion sensor articles posted in the Self Help section of the forum.

thanks a lot for your help ,i have tried this method to Analyze with motion detector and in this particular situation i still cannot pin point where the issue is , it works correctly for most time but sometimes its not . in the alerts section it marks the motion in zone A and therefore it shouldn't send me SMS by what i asked BI to do , when in alerts its showing motion AB i get SMS and its great that's what its needs to do .

i feel like its a glitch in BI .

i am attaching another picture .

and again thanks for putting time and helping me .

Okay, okay, not zone overlap. You have DS enabled, right? DS determines who goes and who doesn't in terms of alerts. Traffic cop. Might have something to do with it... depends on how you have it set up. But realistically, "it happens sometimes" plagues every BI user I know.
