AI Static Object Analysis issue

Hi

I'm setting up Codeproject AI (on a RPi4B 2gb running the CPAI ver 2.1.10-Beta docker image with a Coral TPU) in BI (ver 5.7.8.3). I've noticed that CPAI is getting a lot more requests than I expected when there hasn't been any motion for quite a while. After a bit of digging I noticed that the Static Object Detection is stuck in a 20 sec loop, on a BI server restart it follows the primary analysis frequency (still the default 120 sec) but as soon as there is a motion event it keeps checking every 20 secs, as per the 'when changing' setting, but doesn't revert back to 120 sec in a reasonable amount of time. I'm still monitoring but it has reverted to the initial 120s, I can't be 100% sure yet but I think it was when there was another motion event.

Is this normal behaviour or is it a BI issue?

Thanks
Karl

Hi Karl,

The help files haven't caught up with CPAI, never mind the RPi and coral. All I can suggest is that you contact Support with this question, and then let us know their response.

I've just checked the Help file, and it looks like a good description there now under "Static object analysis":
By default, the scene is analyzed each 120 seconds, but more frequently (each 20 seconds) if the scene has changed (objects have appeared, moved, or disappeared). An object must be present or missing for a number of seconds (the make/break time) before being considered either static or removed from the static object array.
You may define rules to be applied to the static object array.
I'm digging in to the rules, as the present stormy bright/dark UK weather is causing my static car to continuously trigger BI5.

FWWIW: I had a spot like that, most of the time there was a car there but shadows/headlights messed with it. I turned off static and cleared that area from the zone. Created another zone with just that area and told it to only look for persons. Any vehicle going to/from that spot triggered an alert for person/vehicle. I try not to use static objects.

How do you create a zone on the same camera and only have that new zone look for people? I thought you had to clone a camera to be able to do that or all the zones followed the same AI for the camera.

Thanks,
Michael

I have been struggling with capturing a delivery truck, Amazon, ups and etc when the delivery person drop the package. Ideally I would like to trigger to check for the logo only when the camera detect the person in the sidewalk. I live in a busy road, I don't want to have the ai check every single car passing by. Any suggestion on how to do it?
