BI Freezes frequently

Have been having an issue for the last month or so (have been current with updates, currently on 5.8.2.5. After some time, the feed showing in both the mobile app and on the main console "freezes" - the cameras all are stuck in time and no recording has happened since the freeze. I can quit/relaunch BI but no change. The only thing that unsticks things is a server restart.

This server (Win 11) also runs a Plex server and acts as a file server and has worked mostly flawlessly for several years. No hard drive issues (monitored and monthly scans).

The only thing that seems to "work" is a scheduled restart (task manager/scheduled time/shutdown /r). I initially ran it 2x/day at 430am and 5pm, and all was well for a week. Tried reducing to 1x/day removing the 5pm restart and the freezing came back.

Any thoughts? It seems kind of crazy to have to restart 2x/day, but if that's the only "fix" so be it, it only takes the cameras offline for a minute or two.

Something changed and I can't pinpoint if it was a BI update or Windows update, but I'd love to get back to the former stable state.

Has it always frozen or did it start after a specific update?

I say this like a parrot but the very first thing to try is going back to a previous stable release, you could also try disabling hardware acceleration if you have it enabled a cam at a time to try and identify if it might be acceleration in a specific cam that might be causing the issue.

Thanks for the tips - hard to pinpoint when it started but I'm going to start with disabling HW acceleration for all and then pause the restarts to see if that's it.
