I've just started using CPAI with BI5 and I've read that object detection in BI should be turned off. I don't get this, because when I turn this off, triggers/alerts start going off all the time when there is nothing even there, and in turn making my CPU peak. When object detection is on, BI sends images to CPAI only when criteria from object detection is met, which in turn lessons the load on my CPU, compared to when its turned off. Isn't this the better way?
Have I misunderstood here and they meant to turn off Object detection in Blue Iris settings/AI?
BI 5 and CPAI -Object detection on or off?
Re: BI 5 and CPAI -Object detection on or off?
I have 9 cameras on BI w/ CPAI and I have obkect detection on for all of them. I've been running that way for 10 months and CPAI does great.

OK, but which object detection are you referring to? BI global settings/AI or in Camera settings? Do you have them both on?
Re: BI 5 and CPAI -Object detection on or off?
BI under individual camera settings, trigger, motion sensor
Re: BI 5 and CPAI -Object detection on or off?
Where did you read that ? Please add references. Unless you are using external triggers like ONVIF, that will usually disable CPAI. There is still insufficient documentation to fully understand this.I've just started using CPAI with BI5 and I've read that object detection in BI should be turned off.
Actually the early info from the Boss was to increase the sensitivity of BI5 object detection, and then to let CPAI decide what it was. Before CPAI we were battling to remove false triggers by various means. Now we turn object detection sensitivity up to 11
